Use Unit Conversions to define the relationship between units. For example, you can set ‘1 dozen’ to equal ’12 each.’ This flexibility allows you to purchase, stock, and sell products using different units of measure. The primary unit for each item is its stocking unit. For instance, you could purchase a product in a case, stock it as an individual item, and sell it in a box of six. In this scenario, you would simply define the conversion from ‘case to each’ and ‘box to each.
Create a New Unit Conversions
- Go to Items on the left sidebar, and select Unit Conversions
- Click Add New button in the top right corner.
- On the new warehouse page, fill in the following fields
- Unit: Select unit.
- Convert To: Specify which unit you want to convert to.
- Factor: Enter multiplying factor. For example, Unit = dozen, Convert To = Each, Factor = 12.
