Segments

A segment is a non-geographic market group—such as an industry or a sales channel—that a salesperson or sales team is responsible for. You can assign sales rep or teams to a segment. To ensure accurate commission tracking and sales analysis, you must also assign customers to these defined segments.

 

Create a New Segment

  • Go to Sales Performance on the left sidebar, and select Segments
  • Click Add New button.
  • Fill in the following fields
    • Segment Name: Enter a unique segment’s name. It is up to 30 characters.
    • Sales Rep: Select sales rep who will oversee this segment.
    • Sales Team: You may assign sales team to the segment instead of sales rep.
    • Memo: if any.
    • Click Save button

 

Assign Customer to The Segment

  • Go to Sales Performance on the left sidebar, and select Segments
  • Click Set Customer’s Segment button.
  • On the customer segment page, you’ll see a list of all your customers, along with a segment column. Assign the appropriate segment to each customer individually.
  • Click Save button

How do we pay commissions based on sales performance in a specific segment?

  • Make sure that sales segments have been created and customers have been assigned to the segment.
  • Go to Sales Performance on the left sidebar and select Commission Plan.
  • Click Add New button.
  • Enter plan name and its active time frame.
  • Commission method can be either percentage or tier commission. Assume that we choose percentage commission method.
  • Select plan type to ‘Specific‘.
  • In the segment dropdown, select the target segment, for example ‘On-Premise’.
  • In ‘Percentage’ tab, enter commission rate and its base (gross sales, net sales or gross profit).
  • In ‘Assign To’ tab, select sales rep or team who will oversee this segment.
  • Click Save button
